The Real Estate Market in South West Florida

The most common question we are being asked is the question about the
Real Estate Market in our area. Of course I do not have a crystal ball either
but I am a full time Realtor in South West Florida since 1994. During this
time I have seen the market going down and up and the other way around.
Looking at the current statistics in Lee County Florida (Fort Myers, Cape
Coral Area) we have an increase in sales of over 65% compared to the same
month last year (2007). Interest Rates are at almost "all time" lows, prices
decreased - it is a buyers and investors heaven. And Buyers and Investors
are realizing that now is the time to buy.

My personal opinion is: The Market in our Area was overvalued in 2005 but is
way undervalued now.

My personal opinion is: Real Estate is always a good investment. It is an
investment which is REAL, you can see it, touch it and enjoy it. Real Estate
will always represent a certain value, no matter what happens to the
economy - Real Estate does not simply disappear.

What is the Market doing now? Like I mentioned above. Unfortunately I do
not have a crystal ball either. But being a Realtor so many years I can see
similarities. I think the Real Estate Market in our Area is boiling under the
surface. I think it will recover way faster than a lot of people think.

Florida is always "a place to be". We have the weather, the beaches, the
water, the golf courses and a lot of large companies are considering Florida
as a place for their future headquarters. Of course we have the Boston Red
Sox and the County is talking to a few other teams for Spring Training in Lee
County as well.

Looking at the most recent statistics and seeing the increase in sold
properties of over 65% compared to just the same month last year - if you
are thinking about buying Real Estate in Florida, now might be just the right
time to do so.
